Paver Sealing - Island Way Clean & Seal

THE PAVER SEALING PROCESS - BRICK | CONCRETE | TRAVERTINE PAVER SEALING

STEP 1

We will arrive on time, assess and test your pavers to ensure sealer compatibility. Many companies skip this extremely important step.

STEP 2

Then we will apply an environmentally friendly proprietary chemical blend to efficiently and effectively remove rust stains, mold, algae, oils, tire marks, etc…

STEP 3

Next, we will thoroughly pressure wash with a 4200 PSI commercial grade trailer mounted pressure washer(s) and a rotary surface cleaner. Our setup costs over $10,000 and provides a much more thorough cleaning than using a pressure washer from Home Depot with a wand (Handymen, Painters, and Home Owners typically use these often producing a mediocre or poor result)

STEP 4

Now we will rinse all the dirt, grime, etc. off of your pavers (We emphasize keeping your pool clean, and your grass alive)

STEP 5

At this point we will begin resanding the joints (if needed). The ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) recommends the sand be 1/8th to 1/4 inches below the chamfer edge of the paver for optimum interlocking strength. THE PAVER JOINT SAND IS NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE GROUT. We use a special Seal and Lock wetsanding nozzle and technique to evenly wash the Commercial Grade Paver Sand down into the joints for a superior hold and look with no additional settling. (Many companies skip this step or use cheaper sand which mold and weeds thrive in)

STEP 6

With the pavers properly cleaned and sanded, we will begin applying 2-4 generous coats of ICT’s UreSealH20’s 45% solids sealer or similar commercial/military grade breathable sealer (Most companies only apply 1-2 light coats of a mediocre “big-box” sealer) with a custom built electric sprayer, which not only provides maximum color enhancement, gloss, and joint stabilization, but also eliminates roller marks and the chance of sealing in sand that rollers tend to pull up from the joints. We use a board to cut in minimizing overspray, and also carry around a damp rag just in case. We utilize a revolutionary “One Day” process which minimizes downtime for you, and allows us to complete most jobs the same day! (weather permitting) This is mostly due to the breathable nature of water based polyurethane sealers, and we give you a WARRANTY ON EVERY SINGLE JOB.

STEP 7

Lastly, we will go over the finished project with you to ensure that you are completely satisfied with our service!

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

We primarily use Innovative Concrete Technologies’ Breathable Urethane Sealer or Military Grade 70% Solids Breathable Polyurethane. UreSealH20 is a high solids, two-part pure urethane sealer that penetrates the pavers to provide a longer lasting protective barrier with superior joint stabilization (no need for polymeric sand) resulting in an enhanced ‘wet look.’ It’s user friendly, environmentally safe, and is algae and mold inhibiting. The high solids content (45%) of pure urethane wears evenly and lasts longer than solvent or water based sealers.

Using our commercial grade precision electric sprayer, and 24″ brass wand, we typically apply 2-4 coats of sealer, saturating the pavers and galvanizing the arduous paver restoration process. This will enhance and deepen the natural color of the pavers, and generally lasts 3-5 years, depending on many factors like paver quality, paver age, UV exposure, etc.

(Note: Anyone claiming a longer life than 3-5 years is lying to you. Even nano sealers will not last 5+ years under the punishing Florida Sun. Keep your receipts from these companies!)
